British duo CATBEAR, consisting of best friends Zoe and Sarah, share their brand new single It’s Okay, the final single to be lifted from their upcoming sophomore album For Now, For Ever, out no October 24th.
The follow up to last month’s infectious darkwave alt-pop gem Darkness, It’s Okay is a soaring anthem of self-acceptance and visibility, inspired by conversations about queer identity and belonging in your late 30s and beyond. Written, recorded and produced by Zoe Knoez, this gem features Zoe’s ethereal vocals that share a message that rejects compromise and affirm resilience and pride. A powerful statement song that pairs Zoe’s dreamy vocals with pulsing synths, driving beats, and euphoric choruses that come together to create an overall warm atmosphere perfect for a late-night drive and/or relaxing weekends!
Speaking about the song, Zoe said,
This song is about reaching a point where you stop apologising for yourself. It’s inspired by conversations about being queer in your late 30s and beyond – belonging, visibility, and being proud of the lives we’ve built. It’s a reminder that it’s okay to take up space, and to show the next generation that we’re still here, thriving.
