The runtime for the first volume of the fifth and final season of Stranger Things has been revealed.
The science-fiction horror adventure series from The Duffer Brothers will air its last season on Netflix, and is said to be dropping in three parts.
The first chapter will arrive on November 27 at 1am GMT, while the second part will drop at 1am on December 26. Its finale will then air on New Year’s Day in the UK. You can find out everything else you need to know about the show here.
Fans have been left guessing about its runtime – and the show’s creators have shut down rumours that episodes would go over two hours each, calling the reports “not even close to accurate”.
Now, co-creator Ross Duffer has shared the “actual runtimes” of the first installment. In a video posted to Instagram, viewers can see Duffer scroll down a screen showing the length of the first four episodes of season five.
Episode 1 will clock in at 68 minutes, while Episode 2 will take 54 minutes long. The third episode will then be 66 minutes long, and the last episode of volume one will run at 83 minutes.

The series’ trailer has revealed that a showdown between the town of Hawkins and the evil Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) will soon take place.
In the trailer, we also saw Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) grieving Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn), whose grave has been defaced as the town believes he is a murderer.
The trailer also gave us our first look at new character Dr. Kay, who will be played by sci-fi legend Linda Hamilton.
Various cast members have given their thoughts on the series ending since it first started filming in November 2015. David Harbour has professed he was glad the series is ending in June; meanwhile, Caleb McLaughlin said he felt “blessed” to be part of it. Late last year, Millie Bobby Brown was filmed breaking down as she read her goodbye letter to the cast and crew.
Meanwhile, Finn Wolfhard told NME in an interview last April that leaving Stranger Things “feels like a weird graduation in my life”. “With Stranger Things ending last year, it was the end of an era, and to have [Hell Of A Summer] coming out – which I’ve been living with for years – feels like a new start. It’s nerve-wracking but I also want to celebrate it.”
