A mellow, dreamy rock allure envelops on “all this time,” a new single from Tokyo-based band Yasu Cub. Led by Atlanta-born songwriter Jacob Oki Ahearn, they fuse dream-pop, slowcore, and indie folk influences with seamless entrancement. “You said, you need me, sentimentally,” soothing vocals let out amidst warming guitar twangs to start the track, existing in various layers as the vocals move caressingly into the “I realized, you’re all I find” smitten sense.
The mid-point’s bolstered guitar jangles combine with the ethereal vocal presence, for a sound that reminds fondly of The Radio Dept. in its anesthetic rock qualities. The final minute then stirs with radiant guitar layers, with shades of The Wrens in its layered sophistication. “all this time” is a thoroughly inviting rock success from Yasu Cub — representing the third single from their upcoming second album, my early years, your spiral arms, due in March 2026.
