Attention all emo lifers: it’s time to dust off the eyeliner and scream-along like it’s 2006 again. Ohio icons Hawthorne Heights are heading back to Australia in April 2026 to celebrate 20 years of their sophomore classic If Only You Were Lonely – the record that made ‘Saying Sorry’ a universal mood and cemented the band as kings of the black-hoodie generation.
And because the nostalgia gods are generous, they’re bringing along New Jersey post-hardcore legends Armor For Sleep, marking a double-shot of golden-era emo goodness we truly do not deserve.
Hawthorne Heights – ‘Saying Sorry’
The five-date run kicks off April 22 in Perth before rolling through Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and finishing at Brisbane’s Brightside Outdoors on April 28. Tickets go on sale Friday 7 November at 9am local, with presale the day before.
For over two decades, Hawthorne Heights have been the epitome of resilience – weathering label drama, scene shifts and unimaginable loss, but always coming back stronger and louder.
If Only You Were Lonely became a generation-defining record for exactly that reason: melodic heartbreak, anthemic catharsis, and that classic dual-vocals emo punch that changed the game.
Meanwhile, Armor For Sleep are entering a whole new chapter with their fresh studio album There Is No Memory dropping November 7 – continuing the conceptual storytelling and existential angst that made them cult heroes on releases like Dream to Make Believe and What to Do When You Are Dead.
Two bands. Two generations of emotional damage healed through sing-screaming.
