We wrote this song about reaching that point where you know a passionate but failed relationship needs to be laid to rest. It almost felt easier to hold on to the weight of it than to truly move on—and I think we’ve all been there at some point. I wanted to give the relationship a kind of theatrical send-off, which is why we chose to shoot in black and white. The cliffs and the raging sea mirrored the storm of emotions I was feeling at the time. In many ways, that chapter of my life ended there, and from it came ‘Never Be Forgotten’.
The accompanying black and white visual, shot against dramatic cliffs and raging seas, provides the theatrical send-off this relationship deserved, capturing the raw emotional storm at the heart of the song.
