The shoe folk at DSW Shoe Warehouse have been sued once again for using pop songs in their social media posts without getting the OK from copyright owners. This time it’s Sony Music suing US shoe shop giant DSW over the alleged “rampant infringement” of copyright, following the lead of Warner Music, which filed similar legal action earlier this year. The shoe peddler’s lawyers actually preempted Sony’s lawsuit last month – demonstrating prescience if not copyright knowledge – with their own legal filing about music in the company’s social media posts. In it, they claimed that DSW’s marketing people simply did what…

YouTuber Basically Homeless has started electrocuting himself to get better at online shooter Counter-Strike 2. Counter-Strike 2 is a multiplayer first-person shooter that pits two teams (counter-terrorists and terrorists) against each other in a number of different game modes. Despite backlash over changes made from 2012’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the game has a fiercely competitive online community. In a bid to become the best in the world (and to counteract the drop in reflexes that happen after you turn 30) YouTuber Basically Homeless has created an app that detects enemies when they appear on his screen and triggers an electric…
Australian pop singer and songwriter Jordan Anthony unveils his brand new single Reckless, an R&B drenched late-night pop anthem that captures the rush of falling fast, and maybe a little too hard, for someone who makes you feel just a little wild. Out now via Head Bitch Music, Reckless was born in a session with Grammy-nominated producer Emile Ghantous and writer Sam Sznd and finds the American Idol alumn pouring his heart out and showcasing his rich, soulful vocals that won me over from the start. I am loving how we can feel the raw, honest emotion and soul pouring from…

Stephen King has discussed what he would like to see as the ending to President Donald Trump’s time in office. The horror legend is a staunch critic of the current US leader, with a recent post on his X (formerly Twitter) account saying: “Deep down in his heart, I believe Trump knows he’s an incompetent asshole”. In a new interview with The Guardian, he was asked by a reader: “If you had to invent an ending for Trumpian America, what would it be?” The writer answered: “I think it would be impeachment – which, in my view, would be a…
Zimbabwe-born, London-based indie pop artist Ananya shares her brand new single Falling, an upbeat exploration of poorly timed relationships. Falling finds the talented artist capturing the mental battle between your heart and head in a relationship you know may be bad for you. I am really enjoying Ananya lovely, expressive vocals and how it beautifully captures our attention to he relatable storytelling. Her sarcastic phrasing and hopeful melody bring a lighthearted atmosphere to the story of a ‘wrong time, wrong place’ type of relationship. Apart from her lovely vocals, I am particularly fond of the intricate guitar riffs and how they…
