President covered Deftones‘ ‘Change (In The House Of Flies)’ at their London show last night (June 30). Check out footage of the moment below. The anonymous band played The Garage in London in front of a packed crowd on Wednesday night, having amassed a cultlike following since they burst onto the scene, seemingly out of nowhere, earlier this year. By design, little is known about the band, who got people talking after being added to the list of artists set to perform at this year’s Download Festival. At the time, they had no music out, had never posted online, and had not…

At a set this past March in Austin, Texas, it happened. Eric Prydz played “Call on Me.” It’s been long-running dance world lore that the legendary Swedish producer might never again play out his 2004 hit, which famously weaves in elements of Steve Winwood‘s 1982 soft rock smash “Valerie.” “Call on Me” had not, in fact, been heard in a Prydz set since 2005. But on March 15 at Austin venue The Concourse Project, Prydz dropped it, first playing Winwood’s original “Valerie” before transitioning to “Call on Me.” Predictably, the audience (and then the internet) went crazy. As Prydz tells…

Swiss DJ/Producer Spoke returns with Slow Burn Summer, an Afro-infused piece of Progressive House/Dance-Pop music.  Out now via Progressive State Records, Slow Burn Summer finds the talented artist effortlessly capturing that moment when time shows down when someone catches your eye, and you’re instantly drawn to that person. I am really enjoying the smooth, expressive vocals which beautifully infuse the song with a touch of soul and emotion, gliding beautifully over the hypnotic blend of afro groove and progressive tension. Apart from those gorgeous vocals and sun-drenched harmonies, I am particularly fond of the bouncing organic drums, lush synths and infectious…

Canadian artist, and alternative soul singer Avery Raquel shares her brand new single Like The Rain, a retro-soul piece of contemporary r&b music.  The second single to be taken from her upcoming Fall/Autumn EP, Like The Rain is a smooth, old-school soul track about falling in love. I am loving the tone of her voice and how soothing and soulful her vocal delivery is, gliding effortlessly over the gentle production. Accompanying her lovely vocals we have a laid-back groove nicely intertwined with steady drum beats, subtle piano keys, killer bass and rhythms that come together to create an overall warm, soothing…

Conjuring a cinematic, fantasy-like allure in its flourishing neoclassical intrigue, “Illusions of Amethyst” is an immersive new track from Jacqueline Cordes. Coming via the Los Angeles-based artist’s new album Frozen Star, out on August 8th, “Illusions of Amethyst” ventures with minor-key beauty and embraces Cordes’ appreciation for the color purple; her synesthesia turns music into color, and this track emits that particular shade — just like personal inspirations Stephen Flaherty’s “Once Upon a December” and Franz Schubert’s “Gretchen am Spinnrade.” Frozen Star follows up last year’s debut album Singularity; both converge for a tour of the “Chromaverse.” The release of…
