Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan’s new project for Apple TV+ is close to release, with the streamer ramping up teasers for the forthcoming sci-fi series. Apple TV+ first acquired the rights to Gilligan’s next series almost three years ago and it is expected to premiere later this year. More details are imminent, if a teaser from the streamer is anything to go by. It dropped a cryptic video on YouTube featuring a countdown and the tagline ‘Happiness is Contagious’. The independent sector has welcomed the news that the European Commission has launched a more in-depth phase two investigation into Universal Music’s acquisition of Downtown Music Holdings. That follows an initial analysis of the deal by European Union competition regulators that began last month. The music industry has been paying tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, who died yesterday, age 76, less than three weeks after reuniting with his Black Sabbath bandmates for a farewell show at Villa Park in Aston in his hometown of Birmingham.
