The Mountain Goats have announced their return to Australia. The beloved American folk-rock outfit, fronted by singer-songwriter and figurehead John Darnielle, will play five capital city shows in mid-April 2026 – almost exactly nine years after the band was last here as part of the Bluesfest line-up in 2017. Glenn Richards – best known as the founder, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of Augie March – has announced he will embark on a solo tour across October and November 2025, covering most states in the process. The 11-date tour sees Richards jokingly bill himself as “the 33rd hottest Australian songwriter of all time”, in reference to Augie March’s ‘One Crowded Hour’ entering triple j‘s Hottest 100 Of Australian Songs at number 33. Fit For An Autopsy have announced an Australian tour, which is set for mid-to-late January in 2026. The American extreme metal sextet were last here in 2023, supporting Perth metalcore band Make Them Suffer on their Neverbloom anniversary tour. They will be joined on all dates by Floridian metal band Bodysnatcher, who themselves are returning less than a year after their last run of dates supporting Lorna Shore alongside To The Grave back in February. Americana music fans stream more music and spend significantly more on it than the average music streaming consumer, according to new research from the Digital Media Association (DIMA). The research was produced on behalf of DIMA by music consumer research/analyst service Music Watch Inc., based on American music listener surveys conducted in 2023 and 2024. Fans of Canadian hard rock legends Coney Hatch will soon be able to experience their classic self-titled debut album with fully remastered audio by acclaimed engineer Harry Hess. On October 24, 2025, “Coney Hatch” will be reissued via Anthem Records, marking the anniversary of the band’s gold debut album some four decades after its original May 21, 1982 release. Victoria Beckham’s life will be the subject of a new Netflix documentary, from the makers of her husband’s 2023 four-part series. Titled Victoria Beckham, the three-part docuseries will arrive on October 9 on the streaming service, featuring interviews with David and Victoria Beckham, as well as “leading figures in fashion”.
