Los Angeles-based trio wolfe le herron unveil a memorable sound on new single “Heartbeat,” melding throwback rock and contemporary soaring pop in its consuming guitar/synth interplay and anthemic vocal culminations. The track and the band’s upcoming album were recorded at Lucy’s Meat Market in Highland Park, CA, and produced by Bryan Cook. “Heartbeat” excels in its harmonious, heartfelt sound — thematically presenting love, loss, and doing the best one can to keep a relationship alive.

Lush keys, reflective guitar pulses, and a steady rhythm section enchant with an atmospheric pull, as the smooth vocals emerge. “The challenge we create is when we’ve gone too far,” the vocals exude, capturing a resonating introspection on the struggles of keeping a relationship going. “Careful what you ask, baby,” they caution into a riveting central chorus. “Your heartbeat is just fine,” the vocals then enthrall amidst soaring guitar and melodic synth incorporations, sounding like a delectable cross of The Killers and Tom Petty.

“The challenge is, baby, sometimes we want too much,” the vocals continue, gearing up into another title-touting hook following laments of a relationship at a crossroads. The “down for a moment” segment conveys a spirited perseverance through it all, like a heartbeat that’s “just fine” and keeps on ticking along, just like lovers intent on moving through tumult, together. “Heartbeat” is a standout, replay-tempting success from wolfe le herron.
